Drop I
Sandcastles.
Piles of pinecones.
Necklaces made of seashells.
Little towers of smooth stones.
Fortress walls built from driftwood washed ashore by the sea.
Jumping over waves taller than you are.
Tiny footprints in the soft sand.
Book pages dusted with sand.
Winding paths weaving through fragrant pine forests.
Sun hats and windswept hair.
Long goodbyes to the setting sun.
The sound of the sea.
Trying to match the rhythm of your heartbeat.
And by the shore, your heart begins to beat
to the sea’s gentle rhythm.
