Christmas ’23 – Together in Joy
WHY WILL EVERYTHING BE THIS WAY?
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year,” I hum to myself, fingers clattering over the keyboard.
And truly — I think to myself — you can lose your head over the dizzying feeling of Summer, over Spring reawakening in every corner of the world and deep in your heart, over the colors and romance of Autumn…
You may like winter or not.
But not loving Christmas — that’s simply impossible.
No wonder the world-famous “grinch” is known as nearly the only one who didn’t feel for that season, that fluffy ball of yarn of emotion that seizes the heart, as winter’s hands skip ahead into December.
My eyes wander through the cozy items of online shops, timidly settling in the most hidden corners, where a “season of joy” base has quietly taken root.
I add to my basket deer-head ornaments, cushions decorated with cozy messages, gingerbread-patterned blankets — and I feel happy.
In my mind, like a snowstorm on a wintry night, a vision begins to take shape.
With huge shovels of snow, I push ideas around in my head, imagining how this year to create yet another priceless memory of a time when ordinary, everyday moments at home — with your own people — become the most magical.
Closing the computer and pulling my hands away from the keyboard, I smile:
“How wonderful that for every Christmas photoshoot, there’s nothing to CREATE.
You just need to close your eyes and feel — which simple, magical, everyday Christmas moment this year you want to follow, like the most beautiful fairy tale.”
Listen.
