WHY WILL EVERYTHING BE THIS WAY?
\nOr \u2013 what are these \u201cDOUBLE DROP\u201d collections?<\/p>\n
This year Summer lingered so long that we\u2019ve been joking, \u201cit\u2019s the 55th day of August.\u201d In 14 V&V seasons, we\u2019ve never experienced a fourth month of summer quite like this.<\/p>\n
It was precisely because of weather surprises like these that the \u201cDOUBLE DROP\u201d was born. We used to launch our collection at the end of August \u2013 when it was still +30\u00b0C, yet we were offering wool coats. We realized this created more stress than joy:<\/p>\n
I\u2019m a Mom \u2013 I know what it means to prepare for September and still want to feel beautiful.
\nTrying on a coat in the heat and taking it home to hang in the closet for two months is hardly a pleasant experience.
\nSeptember is often still bright and sunny, while the real cold arrives later \u2013 so presenting the entire collection at once meant choosing between \u201cI can wear this now\u201d and \u201cI\u2019ll wear this later.\u201d<\/p>\n
So in 2019, for the first time, we divided the collection into two parts: in late August we introduced the first \u201cDROP\u201d \u2013 lighter looks suited for early autumn \u2013 and a month later, the second part followed as a warmer continuation.<\/p>\n
The result exceeded expectations. Less rush, fewer oversized purchases all at once, and more clarity about what to choose for today and what to save for later.<\/p>\n
Since then, the \u201cDOUBLE DROP\u201d has become our signature. For six Fall\u2013Winter seasons now, we\u2019ve been creating collections in a way that allows your wardrobe to grow thoughtfully \u2013 and without the headache.<\/p>\n
