Why Will It All Be This Way?<\/p>\n
An old steam engine whistles and slowly begins to move
\nalong rusty tracks that have seen far too much.
\nA gentle breeze brushes my hair, and my hand unconsciously
\nclings tighter to the metal railing of the carriage.<\/p>\n
\u201cGood heavens,\u201d my overheated thoughts stir inside,
\n\u201cI\u2019ve seen and experienced so much,
\nbut standing at the front of a thundering train? Never.\u201d<\/p>\n
The engine starts to pick up speed, the wind grows stronger in my hair,
\nand as I inhale deeply, I want to shout louder than the train:
\n\u201cOh, life, you never cease to amaze.\u201d<\/p>\n
When I start assembling a collection, I almost never know
\nwhere we will photograph it.
\nWhat kind of surroundings it will have.
\nWhich colors will dominate.
\nWill it be hot or cold? Will it drizzle, or will the late-July sun scorch?<\/p>\n
I lay out the clothes like a puzzle, following the desires of my heart
\nand the bubbling feelings inside me.
\nAnd I wait for that blessed day,
\nwhen the knowledge that our baby, cradled in our arms for half a year,
\nwill finally be captured.<\/p>\n
Autumn\u2013Winter\u2014our largest and most serious collection of the year.
\nClothes that breathe the return to work, to offices,
\ncarefully considered, how they can be layered
\nand still pass the guaranteed \u201ceasy mornings\u201d test.<\/p>\n
The passing scenery, as I stand for the first time
\nat the front of an old steam engine,
\nunintentionally tickles a feeling inside me:
\nthat I am leaving for autumn,
\na season I generally do not like.<\/p>\n
Knowing that in my \u201cluggage\u201d I carry
\n\u201ceasy mornings\u201d and my beloved layering,
\nI hold tighter to the railing of the train thundering over the tracks
\nand feel happiness, calm, and certainty
\nwash over me with the wind.<\/p>\n
Autumn will be beautiful.<\/p>\n
