My eyes grow even rounder than Mykolas\u2019. My thoughts start to \u201cripple,\u201d but thank goodness\u2014he quickly \u0443\u0442\u043e\u0447\u043d\u044f\u0435\u0442 his question.<\/p>\n
\u201cMom, I want you to sing me that song\u2014the one where kids need to go to sleep so parents can fool around, you know?\u201d he explains, popping his head out from under the blanket.<\/p>\n
For a moment, little waves gather on my forehead, and my thoughts start swirling\u2014what kind of song with that kind of theme could he have heard?!<\/p>\n
But before my thoughts can swing too far, he clarifies\u2014humming a song from Keistuoliai Theatre, about children who fall asleep and their parents\u2026 play around.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs soon as the little child goes lullaby, lullaby,
\nNo need to rock them for long,
\nWhether the sun is smiling or the moon,
\nWe can romp and play with joy.\u201d
\nI send him off to dreams with a song about \u201csleeping children and playful parents.\u201d<\/p>\n
And when the curtains of his eyelashes finally close, I keep smiling to myself for a long while\u2026 until I, too, join in catching up on the sleep of these busy weeks.<\/p>\n
